When you are connected

You will have a secure connection to our server. All the data sent from your device will be encrypted, meaning no one can intercept your login, password or other details for any website. Enabling the VPN is strongly advised if you are away from home or office and using public WiFi.

You’ll find the speed of your connection will be about 10% to 25% less than your normal connection. This is a result of a the encryption applied to your data. The VPN will run no faster than your regular broadband. For example, if your broadband speed is 20 Mbit/sec VibeVPN will run at about 18 Mbit/sec. VibeVPN uses the highest level of security available. We don’t currently block outgoing mail, unlike other VPN services, nor do we oversell our servers.

5. Set up a VPN in Android Jellybean 4.2

This setup sequence is for a L2TP VPN on Android 4.2. VPN support is patchy at best on earlier Android versions. ICM (Ice Cream Sandwich) has problems with L2TP in particular. Many Android phones cannot connect using this protocol at all. As VibeVPN only works with L2TP, we don”t recommend using our VPN if you have an older Android version. It’s unlikely there will ever be a fix for this. The only solution is to upgrade your Android device to version 4.2 or later.

Open “Settings”

Tap “Wireless & Networks” then “More…”
Tap “VPN”.

Tap “+” to add a new VPN

For “Type” select “L2TP/IPSec”. In the “Server address”, enter the server address you were sent in your welcome email.

For “Secret” copy and paste the key you were sent in your welcome email.

Leave the other fields blank.

Tap “Save” to apply the configuration. Your newly configured VPN should now be listed.
